By coming to a deep understanding of who we are, we become wisely and compassionately aware. The heart of Zen is directly experiencing this awareness. It grants us genuine insight, which informs our actions in the world. In this series, students will be introduced to the fundamental practices and philosophy of Zen, including the essential “returning home and calmly resting” concentration-meditation practice. This series is appropriate for all students, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners in all traditions. In 2017, Dan finally followed his dreams and began teaching his unique martial arts curriculum and Zen full-time. Dan is an Ohio Stare University graduate with a B.A (‘08) and M.A (‘10) in Chinese language and culture, lived and worked in China for several years, and now lives in Columbus with his wife, 2 daughters, 2 dogs and a cat.
